SY QUEST
Join Swedish captain Goeran aboard the SY Quest San Blas sailboat.
Captain Goeran started his life at sea at the age of 16 working on a fishing trawler in Sweden, and has since spent most of his life at sea. After graduating from the Merchant Marine Academy in 1979 he has worked as captain and chief officer in commercial shipping throughout the world, including 11 years on an expedition cruise ship covering Indonesia, The South Pacific, as well as Antarctica and the Arctic. He has also been captain on 160 foot Mega yachts and a live aboard dive vessel. When he hasn’t been working on ships he has been sailing his own yachts, including six Atlantic crossings.
Goeran is also a Dive Master and took his Dive master certification in Antarctica while working there.
Since 2011 he has operated S/Y Quest full time. After leaving Sweden in June 2011 he first sailed to the Arctic for an expedition to Svalbard before heading south to a warmer climate. He will now focus on sail and dive adventures in tropical waters.
Since 2012 he has been sailing regularly between Panama, Colombia and the San Blas Islands
SY Quest is extremely spacious at 64 foot length over all and 17 foot wide.
She was built with a strong steel hull and designed specifically for sail and dive charters. As she is only taking 10 guests and because of her size she is never crowded.
She has a large cockpit with cushioned seats, wide side decks and a sun awning that is great for lounging. She has four comfortable double cabins, each cabin has 2 single bunks, except for one that has a small double bed, and there is also two single beds in the salon. The cabins are equipped with reading lights and individual fans. There are two bathrooms with hot and cold water and a water-maker system on board to allow unlimited fresh water showers each and every day .
